Last week, I attended the Baptist General State Congress of Christian Education of Illinois. The week was filled with education, church services, fellowship, evangelizing, etc. The dress code for this annual Congress of Christian Education is church attire; and, while some might find the dress code restricting, I find that I dress the best during this one week than I dress the other 51 weeks of the year. I was very fortunate and blessed to buy new clothing for the week but I also had a budget.
I was able to find every single outfit, with exception to accessories and some shoes, in this series on Amazon. Yes, you read that correctly, Amazon. I heard about people buying dresses from Amazon so I wanted to see the hype.
Before I breakdown each outfit, here are three things you need to know before purchasing clothing from Amazon:
1. READ REVIEWS
I cannot stress enough how important reading reviews are. Reading reviews can determine what size to get, which swatches look better than others, how easy returns and exchanges are, etc. I bought two pairs of shoes from Amazon for this series and I normally wear a size 9, but I read reviews before purchasing and ended up ordering a size 10 in each pair and they fit perfectly.
2. KNOW YOUR MEASUREMENTS
This tip is not only helpful for Amazon purchasing but honestly any online purchasing. Not all companies have the same size chart, this is ESPECIALLY true when dealing with companies that are overseas. Everything I purchased had a size chart as one of the images, so before I selected a size I ALWAYS checked the size chart. The three measurements you need to know are your bust (across your chest), your waist (where your belt sits), and your hips (across your hips/ butt).
3. UNDERSTAND RETURN POLICIES
When buying items from Amazon, there's a high risk that you'll receive items that are incorrect. With each item make sure they have a reasonable return policy. I ordered two dresses for this series that I had to return. Fortunately, my local Kohl's can return Amazon items to Amazon with no extra cost. I simply took both dresses to Kohl's Amazon customer service desk, WITHOUT the original packaging, and the amount of both dresses was credited to my Amazon account the same day. This varies from item to item so make sure you read and understand the return policies.

That concludes my Baptist Girl Series! I had so much fun creating looks for this series but the real fun happened when I was fellowshipping with my peers and learning more about Jesus! Stay tuned for a post on what I learned during last week AND stay tuned for my Back to School series. Love you all and God bless!
